Our Kitchen Staff
Being a small-budget nonprofit in a remote part of northern California, our commercial kitchen operates with only three staff members. Their ongoing dedication is a primary reason our Dining Facility is able to provide a daily nutritious, hot meal in a welcoming atmosphere. Free Meal is truly blessed by their presence each day!

I have been affiliated with St. Vincent de Paul for over 26-years. The first three years, I received services as a Free Meal client. I received blankets when we were cold, toys for my three boys at Christmas, when I thought there would be none. I know how important this lunch program is to so many of our clients! I have spent the last 23-years giving back. How important to hear that “Hello, how are you today”, or “Is there anything I can do for you”? I feel blessed by being able to be on the giving end of what has become a positive place to receive help, a kind word, and a feeling that someone out there cares about them. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with so many good people, who have given so much of their time to better the lives of many that seek out the St. Vincent de Paul Free Dining Facility. To them, I thank you!

I enjoy working for St. Vincent de Paul because of the different people and personalities. I like it when I’m able to help someone whether it’s just lending an ear or cooking a wholesome meal. I have made a lot of good friendships along the way. St. Vincent de Paul, you rock!!

I was born and raised in Humboldt County. At age 18, I became homeless and later entered the Eureka Rescue Mission. While living at the Rescue Mission, I met Mary Price and her family. After a rough patch of time, my life began to turnaround. Around 2020, I began volunteering at St. Vincent's Dining Facility. I fell in love with the place and the people! So, now I'm helping the people who helped me in more ways than one.
